Lee-Ann knew from a very young age that she wanted to work with animals. She first discovered the wonderful role of a veterinary nurse through television, and from that moment she was determined to learn more. With no Google back then and eager for answers, Lee-Ann turned to her local library. There, she came across an old green paperback from the 1960s about veterinary medicine. She can’t recall the title or author, but she’s never forgotten the first page. It welcomed her into the world of animal care and explained that if she was lucky enough to make a career out of caring for animals, it would be a true privilege, not everyone is granted.
That message has stayed with her ever since.
Lee-Ann began working in a veterinary practice in 2000, and from that day to now, she has always felt that same sense of privilege and purpose. She is genuinely one of the lucky few who never dreads a Monday. Every day, Lee-Ann is grateful to do the work she loves, and she never takes for granted the trust that pet owners place in her to care for their best friends.
